One of the rare times where she found her own way into her crate.Almost 15 weeks old and her paws are now haning off of the sofa. She has more than doubled her weight in 7 weeks. Here's one of the last shots of Shadow (10-1-2010) before she gets a military ear cropping via laser.

October 15, 2010 - This picture was taken a couple of days after her second taping. Because we waited a bit too long to have her ears cropped, she has the power to shake her head and shake the posts out. We're about to fix that...October 19, 2010 - Rather than using foam backer posts, the vet chose to tape syringe caps onto the insides of her ears. Smaller, shorter and lighter, she can't generate enough rotational force to whip anything out of her ear pockets. She's a couple of days over 16 weeks old in this shot.October 19, 2010 - On the way home in the shotgun seat...October 19, 2010 - October 19, 2010 - Snoozing with the afternoon sun peeking in the window.

Dora and Shadow at 17 weeks.Dora and Shadow at 17 weeks.A content pup. October 27th, 2010. One day shy of 18 weeks of age...Haloween, 2010. Shadow's first time in the back seat with Dora riding shotgun. We're heading to the dog beach at Ft. Desoto Park. Shadow tore her ear tape off, so it's time to get her wet while we've got the opportunity.
Shadow meets Belle'. Bellle' is a 3 y.o. black lab that would chase a ball endlessley. She and Shadow got along great. Two females and no butt sniffing. Shadow's first time in the water up to her chest. She thought better of the idea and turned right around. You can see the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in the background. The Skyway spans Tampa Bay.One ear pricked up! It's a start. We caught both of them up at the same time on several occassions. We've got a few more months of taped ears to come.Shadow watching closely and Belle' drops the ball in a hole that Shadow dug.
Here, Shadow is being told by Belle' that "It's nacho' ball!" Belle' likes to play but she was really all about the ball.It had to happen sooner or later. Shadow got so wrapped up in trying to follow Belle', who was following the ball, that Shadow got totally submerged in the process. Another shot of the Sunshine Skyway in the background. It's beautiful at night. All the cables are yellow and illuminated. In full gallop, with her ears pressed against her head, she's heading straight for Dora. Future member of the Doberman Gang...Getting ready to head back. W4TOP and KD4OBE.Getting ready to head back. W4TOP and KD4OBE.I'm letting Shadow off of the leash in the fenced-in area so that the Pug can chase her. I thought the Pug was going to have a heart attack after she repeatedly chased Shadow whose legs easily outgalloped this little guys full on rant.
Nice shot but we never seem to catch her with both the right and the left ears up at the same time!Ridin' dirty with pops. Note the paw. When she's riding with you she's always got her head or nose or something touching you. Doberman Pinscher...the original Velcro Dog.
